This 1974 Volkswagen Beetle is a Brazilian-market example that was acquired by the seller approximately two years ago and has since been modified with custom panel van bodywork. It was repainted red while the interior was reupholstered in brown vinyl and fitted with air conditioning, a digital radio, three-point seat belts, and a custom firewall with a sliding window. Power is from a replacement 1.6-liter Type 3 flat-four linked to a four-speed manual transaxle. This Beetle panel van is now offered with a Florida title.
The car was modified with steel panel van-style bodywork under current ownership and repainted red with white Volkswagen Service decals. Features include vented quarter panels, a swing-out rear door, headlight “eyebrows,” an antenna, and a reverse light.
Body-color 15″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with Pirelli tires. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The forward cabin features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in brown vinyl along with matching door panels. Brown carpets line the floors and custom rear firewall, which houses a sliding window to the cargo area. Faux-wood appliques have been applied to the door panels and dash, and additional amenities include a digital radio and an aftermarket air conditioning and heater system.
The swing-out rear door opens to reveal a carpeted cargo area with wood slat accents.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 50 miles of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.6-liter Type 3 flat-four is equipped with dual carburetors and an alternator in place of the factory generator.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
