This 1968 Chevrolet C20 CST Custom Camper 3/4-ton pickup is a Golden Anniversary example ordered new through Capital Chevrolet in Denver, Colorado, by its original owner, with whom the truck is said to have remained for approximately five decades. It is finished in gold and white over Parchment and Gold vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 396ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Further equipment includes 16″ steel wheels, power steering, a heavy-duty suspension, running boards, and front and rear receiver hitches along with three-across front seats, a push-button radio, and air conditioning. Acquired by the seller in 2023, the truck was subsequently fitted with a tri-level 1966 Del Rey Sky Lounge camper, which features sleeping and seating areas along with a stove, oven, table, refrigerator, sink, shower, toilet, water tanks, and a propane heater and lantern. This C20 and Del Rey camper are now offered at no reserve in California with manufacturer’s literature, a collection of maps, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The truck left the factory finished in Gold with an Off-White roof and lower bodywork and was repainted at Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Aurora, Colorado, in 1991. It wears CST and Custom Camper badging along with a chrome front bumper and a diamond-plate rear bumper and running boards. Further equipment includes camper mirrors and tie-downs, front and rear receiver hitches, and Chevy-branded rear mud flaps.
Steel 16″ wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with Firestone Transforce HT2 tires. The truck is equipped with power steering as well as heavy-duty suspension components.
The cab houses three-across seating trimmed in Parchment and Gold vinyl upholstery, which is complimented by a color-coordinated dash, doors, and carpets. Additional equipment includes a push-button Delco AM radio, air conditioning, and lap belts. A fire extinguisher is stored behind the right seat.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for amperage, coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.
The tri-level 1966 Del Rey Sky Lounge camper features an over-cab loft, a sleeping platform, and storage cabinets. The cushions in the sleeping and sitting areas are upholstered in patterned green cloth, while flowered curtains adorn the windows. Further equipment includes a stove, oven, table, refrigerator, and sink along with a shower, toilet, water tanks, and a propane heater and lantern.
The 396ci V8 was factory rated at 235 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque. The truck was fitted with dual fuel tanks in 1970. An oil change was completed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
The SPID sticker on the inside of the glovebox door lists factory equipment for the truck. Manufacturer’s literature and a collection of maps are also included in the sale.
