1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible

   

This 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible was refinished in gray under prior ownership and purchased by the current owner in 2013. Power is provided by a 430ci V8 paired with a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a power-operated white convertible top, black and white leather upholstery, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 14″ steel wheels with polished covers, a power-adjustable front bench, power windows, an AM radio, and a heater. This Continental convertible is now offered at no reserve with partial service records, maintenance manuals, a car cover, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

No Reserve: 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible

The car was finished from the factory in Sheffield Gray Metallic and was repainted under prior ownership. Exterior details include a power-operated white convertible top, quad headlights, rear-hinged rear doors, a driver-side mirror, a Lincoln hood ornament, and chrome bumpers and trim. Paint bubbling in the rear decklid is pictured in the gallery below. The seller notes paint bubbling in the hood as well.

The 14″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with 9.00-14 BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted front and rear drums.

The cabin houses bench seating upholstered in white and black leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a power-adjustable front bench seat, power windows, power locks, an AM radio, and a heater. The fuel gauge, radio, and clock are inoperative, per the seller.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 430ci V8 was factory equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 300 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque.
