This 1960 Studebaker Lark VIII Regal four-door sedan is said to have been sold new in Salem, Oregon, and was relocated to eastern Washington around 1999 and placed into long-term storage. The seller acquired the green over gray and black car in 2015, and the 259ci V8 subsequently was rebuilt, the three-speed automatic transmission was replaced, the suspension was overhauled, and front disc brakes, a dual-circuit master cylinder, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum radiator, an electric fuel pump, dual exhaust, cruise control, seatbelts, and 3.31:1 rear-end gearing were installed. This 60V-W6 Lark is now offered at no reserve with records from current ownership, spare parts, an owner’s manual, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in green and features chrome bumpers and trim as well as a driver-side mirror and dual exhaust outlets. A headlight relay, a mechanical brake-light switch, and a third brake light have been added. Dings, dents, and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below along with bubbling paint on the lower front fenders.
Black-painted 15″ steel wheels wear polished Studebaker-logo covers and 205/75 Hankook Optimo whitewall tires. Front disc brakes and a dual-circuit master cylinder were installed around 2020, and the suspension bushings, lower and upper control arms, and king pins were replaced.
The seating surfaces have been reupholstered in gray cloth and black vinyl, the gray carpeting has been replaced, and the door cards have been replaced and re-covered. Seat belts and cruise control were fitted under current ownership. Other appointments include a padded instrument panel, a 12-volt power outlet, and an AM radio. The locking glovebox contains an audio auxiliary input. The windshield wipers do not park automatically. Rusted areas beneath the front carpet and in the trunk were wire-brushed and painted with POR-15 product under current ownership.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 9k of which were added by the seller; true mileage is unknown.
The 259ci V8 was machined, rebuilt with +.030″ pistons, and resealed in 2016, when an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum radiator, and an electric fuel pump were installed. The fuel pump has an oil-pressure safety switch. The oil was changed most recently in June 2024, at which time the voltage regulator was replaced. Corrosion is noted in the engine compartment near the battery.
